It happens that am just leaving town when a furious rain suddenly drops with a bang.I ducked into a nearby hotel and in the process happened to meet eye to eye with Deno,my caretaker.
He smiled from ear to ear as he greeted me proud to have spotted me in such a busy town.He loves me because I always tip him whenever he opens the gate or guards my door.
"Pasu!" He fired his surprise as he reached his arm forward for a handshake.This guy was my die hard and I knew it.
We talked briefly before he offered to give me a ride home.I was speechless.Deno and lift was not in any vocabulary.
So I looked at him in his eye as he lifted his head high and let me briefly into his gaze,to bathe in the glory of his stare.
I don't know how i followed him to the parking lot where he climbed the passenger seat of a truck and squeezed himself to create space for me,my mouth gaped.
"EXHAUSTER" was written neatly on its mammoth brown belly.
It would dawn on me later that Deno had apparently hiked the lift of the honey sucker as it offered its service within the neighbourhood for a joy ride.
The driver peeked at me and after a quick glance arrowed his doubt to to Deno,
"Huyu Sioni akipanda."
So I smiled and took a step.......
